Take three basket coffee filters for each flower. Fold in half. Fold in half again, and one more time. When you open it up it'll be like looking at a sliced pizza. (My mind always goes to food) Cut about a half inch off the outside edge of one filter. This will be your middle part. Cut about an inch off of another filter edge and this will be the top layer.
Now, crumble them into balls. Don't be scared... Go ahead...Not rocket science! It took about two minutes to make one flower. Maybe even a minute and a half. The kids loved this project. They followed my directions for about 6 minutes (they each made 3 flowers) and then did their own thang.
I decided to use them to "spring" up the house a little.
| (I feel the need to paint that table. Seriously. It was Jeff's Grandma's and I think he would have a heart attack if I did. Hmmm. Is it worth the risk??? Just kidding, Jeff. {sort of}) |
| Still haven't painted one wall in the hallway. Is that dorky or what? |
I just used tape to stick them to the tray and frames. They'd be super cute on a wreath, but I didn't have the supplies on hand for that. I'm jealous of all you people that have extra wreath forms just layin' around. So there you have it. A resourceful use of the basket filters we'll never use. The coffee maker uses cones.

Don't even think about painting it!! That is for real!
LOL @ Jeff's comment! I've been wanting to do a coffee filter wreath forever now. I was hoping to find cream colored filters but they are just white or brown, and I don't have forms laying around either nor have I been to the craft store. Wish there was one close to me. Your flowers look cute!
You can color the filters...using paints, markers....just google it
